Description:
A listening session is a moderated forum where employees can directly respond to the internal and
external impact that racial and cultural inequalities have on the workplace's culture. Following the
listening session, an anonymous survey will be administered in an effort to retrieve stakeholder input
that will inform Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) integrations in the future. It is similar to a focus
group and provides a physiological safe space as well as gives an opportunity to stakeholders to connect
to the needs and requests from their staff more deeply. It also allows the people of the organization to
speak up about topics and issues they have not felt comfortable about speaking about before. After a
listening session the facilitator and the person or persons attending will have the following

● What the problem areas are within the workplace and some best practices to improve
them. As well as knowing the right recommendations to the organization on best next
steps.
● Cultivated an empathetic connection
● The correct questions to ask in the survey to be able to retrieve tangible data to be able to
provide guidance on implementing the best DEI strategy within the organization.
